Allington Castle is a stone moat castle just north of Maidstone in England, Allington, Kent. The site’s first castle, an unauthorized fortress, was built during anarchy in the early 12th century and was demolished in the second half of the century when royal control was reclaimed. It was replaced by a fortified mansion in the 13th century with the permission of the royal family.
